Syfy's Alice was WAAAAYYY better than I expected.
I'm thoroughly in love with it. Jonny & I recorded both parts and as our DVD player also records DVDs I burned a copy. =D Now I can watch it whenever I want. I'm pretty excited.
Also, Andrew Lee Potts!Hatter (henceforth shortened to ALP!Hatter) is now my favorite incarnation of the Hatter.

I feel like I'm betraying Tom Petty!Hatter though and that makes me sad...and a little worried. Of all the Hatters, Petty!Hatter is the most cunning. And I keep expecting him to show up randomly and attempt to drown me in a cup of tea for replacing him.
I really do.
Does that make ME mad?

Am taking my grandma to see The Princess and the Frog on Friday. It's going to be a marvelous adventure. =D

Cheers,
Bri.

Soapbox? Maybe. or Ranty McRant-rant.

So, I forgot how much I loved "The Crow" until my cousin & I watched it last night. It was one of those 90s movies where no matter how dark your main character is you fall in love with him instantly and the villain scares the shit outta you no matter how many times you watch it. (Highlander being another, The Kurgan is one scary mofo!!)

Now I find out there are plans to reboot not only "The Crow" but "Highlander" as well. OK really? You have to take TWO of my favorite movies and attempt to make 'em better? Question, what was wrong with them in the first place? I mean, they were brilliantly acted, and memorable. AND they both have a pretty big fan base. I mean, most of their fans went to see their crappy sequels in theaters. (I was too young and I didn't get to go.) (But I have seen all of the sequels now and uh, Highlander: The Source? Worst two hours of my life and I want them back please.) [[No, really. I LOVE Adrian Paul but I would rather watch "The Immortal Voyage of Captain Drake" a billion times than to EVER watch "The Source" again. THAT'S how bad it was.]]

I mean if you absolutely HAVE to "fix" a Highlander movie pick "The Source" or "Highlander II" because all of Christopher Lambert & Adrian Paul's preformances are good. Or at least tolerable.

You can't make another movie as good as "The Crow" for the same reason that you can't make another movie as good as "The Dark Knight". They were such iconic preformances that they probably couldn't have been duplicated if Brandon Lee & Heath Ledger were still alive. And since they're dead there's REALLY nothing you can do about it. Anything less than Brandon Lee as the Crow is going to feel like a cheap imitation. (IF and only IF they could find someone who gives as much to the preformance of The Joker as Heath THEN and only THEN would it be ok to make another Batman movie with the Joker.)

Connor Macleod and Duncan Macleod are the only Highlanders I will accept. And Christopher Lambert and Adrian Paul ARE those characters. Nobody else will EVER play Connor and Duncan they way that they did. So stop trying to replace them.
Same thing goes for Brandon Lee. He WAS the crow, he DIED making that movie. It will always be HIS movie.
Give it up.

And I'm off the soapbox. Sorry about that.
I seem to be having a Ray Park obsession at the moment. No really, ask me how many times I've watched GI JOE recently and he doesn't even talk in that movie. I've watched just about every movie, and rewatched Heroes episodes over and over. The only thing I haven't watched is "Episode One" and that's mostly because I can't find it. =)

But Speaking of Star Wars, Jonny and I are doing a secret Star Wars project. It's pretty spectacular. And I'm very excited...yeah, I'm such a geek.

Going to the Christmas parade in town tonight. It's gonna be like 22 degrees.
I'm gonna have to wear like seventeen layers. Not so excited about that.

That's been this week so far. (Minus some ranty stuff about Skyla & her bf but I'll spare you that particular rant.)

Cheers,
Bri.

Is it weird that every time I see a preview for "The Princess and the Frog" all I can think about is Gambit? Does that qualify as obsessive fangirl-ism?

"Gambit can't help but notice that you save him chere, an' not Wolverine. Heh, must be my way wit women."

[[Couldn't resist a quote.]]

I'm writing a three part, low budget (VERY low budget) musical. Why? Because I can. And the muse demands. Can't say no to the muse.

It's gonna be very tongue-in-cheek. Poking fun at the recent Vampire/werewolf craze. (Yeah Twilight, I'm talking to you.)
[[I actually like Twilight. Well, parts of it. So any fanatical fans reading this you can put the torches and pitchforks down. I make fun because I love.]] =)

Did I mention it's gonna be VERY low budget? Cause it is. But that's part of what makes it awesome.

Will post script when I get it finished.

Cheers,
Bri.

A little too geeky.

So, aparently cheesy webisode musicals are my new favorite things.
ex- Dr. Horrible. (BEST MUSICAL EVER btw. Tell your friends.) =)

And now, there's one combining a few of my favorite things:
Musicals.
Vampires.
And the cheesy fun that is High School musical. [[Yes, I like HSM. It's campy fun and it's a musical. I LOVE musicals. And I like to make fun of Zac Efron. Cause I remember when he was little Simon Tam on Firefly.]]

What does that make you ask? Something titled: "I kissed a vampire." Check it out on Itunes. It's campy fun. It's like someone asked 'what would happen if we combined High School musical, Lost Boys, and Dr. Horrible's sing along blog?' Act one is up. And did I mention it's campy fun? It's a spoof. And it knows it's a spoof, which makes it even more fun.

On a related note, my Halloween story had a change it title. It's now called: "All souls night". So yey for that. And Chapter one is almost done.[[I'm also cleaning and rearranging my room.]] ((yey for multitasking and proctastination!))

On another related note, I think I wanna be a vampire for Halloween. ((Lost Boys/Moonlight/Sanctuary/Bloodties/Angel/Buffy/The Forsaken/Dracula style. Not a Twilight style Vamp.))

((Speaking of Twilight & Sanctuary, the way Tesla's hair defies gravity is WAAAAAAYYYY cooler and hotter than Edward's. No lie. And Tesla doesn't sparkle, but he does conduct electricity. Which is inherently cooler than sparkling.))

That's all the geekiness for today.

Cheers,
Bri.

Ready for Halloween.

I'm soooooo ready for Halloween. SOOOOOOO ready. Got most of the yard decorated. Looks like a creepy graveyard. Or it will when we finish making the gravestones.

I've got a whole bunch of Nightmare before Christmas stuff coming in (Mostly Lock, Shock & Barrel cause they're my favs.) My adorable beanies with the glow in the dark masks came today.

Also got all three Scream movies, Casper AND a Halloweentown Sora from Kingdom Hearts. (Geek much?)

-----

I'm writing a story for Halloween tentatively titled "Voodoo Queen of New Orleans" about a Witch seeking revenge on a town by plaguing it with creatures from the nightmares of the town's children. Hopefully I'll get it done in time for Halloween.

Cheers,
Bri.

Geeky? you betcha.

So, here's how my geeky mind works. My best mate Katy loves Meat Loaf (the singer, not the food.) she even wanted to be proposed to through one of his song lyrics (and she was.)
But she got me to like him. (and Van Halen' but that's a story for another time.)

So Adam and Stella got together on CSI NY, which is kinda cute but mostly creepy. But she was trying to break it off and told them they shouldn't see each other again and he was like "you took the words right outta my mouth" and had this dorky smile on his face and the first thought my mind had was "he's totally gonna add, 'must've been while you were kissing me'." but he didn't.

Speaking of Meat Loaf, he's gonna be on Monk this week. I think I'm gonna have to watch it. Even though I detest Monk. I blame Katy.

Whom I spending this weekend with and we're gonna order pizza and watch Simon Pegg movies!

Title brought to you by: Sweeney Todd.

Heroes Spoilers...sorta. )

Moving on to Supernatural. Not a lot to say about it. Sam & Dean broke up. (lol.) Ellen & Jo were in it. (YEY!!!! LOVE THEM!!!) Ellen was AWESOME!!!! She's like the boys adopted mom. Makes me giggle. Castiel was hott. And Bobby was snarky. (But then again Bobby is stuck in a wheelchair now. ) ((Poor Bobby)).

Bones=average. Needed rotating interns cause they rock! But Cyndi Lauper was in it.

Warehouse 13, how dare it end like that? Now I have to wait till next Summer to find out what happens! Grr!!!

NCIS was FANTASTIC!!! It was nice to see McGee be badass. And drugged!Tony is great too. Of course Normal!Tony never disappoints. (Except for when he was "dating" Jeanne. Didn't like her.)

NCIS LA was alright. LOVE Chris O'Donnell. Have ever since Three Musketeers ( I even love him in Batman & Robin even though that's the worst of the Batman movies.) Hoping it gets better cause even regular NCIS wasn't that great the first couple of episodes.

That's about it.
Except I might be coming down with a cold. Which would suck hardcore. Cause chasing a puppy around is no fun when all you wanna do is sleep.

Cheers,
Bri.

PUPPY!!!!

  • Sep. 20th, 2009 at 5:39 PM
Adorkable Office!Sammy
I got a puppy. He's awesome and adorable. His name is Huckleberry. =)
It's cause I was gonna call him "Sawyer" cause my other dog is called Shia, so I was looking for an "S" name, but he didn't look quite like a "Sawyer". He was too laid back, so I thought that Huck was a better name since Huck was always less devious than Tom.
A calm demeanor with a hidden puckish side=Huck as the pefect name choice.

Of course, Shia isn't happy. But she'll get over it.

Of course, this may ruin my chances of going camping this weekend. Maybe I can convince my grams to let me take him with me. I bet he'd like the water; he's part lab.

I think I just met my future husband.
No, not dream Welsh Hott future husband.
But hott Australian Army Specialist future husband. Now I just need to like tackle him and get his number, or email, or facebook or twitter or something.

=)

Definitely a good trip.
Might get a puppy, maybe not a beagle but it might be a lab mix and we might get it this weekend. (yey!!!)

Going out to lunch. Update later.

Bought Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 the other day. Awesome. Didn't get too far in it. Still fun though.

Bought NCIS Season 5 & Sanctuary season 1. And Will (from Sanctuary) is TOTALLY in this episode of NCIS that I'm watching right now. Makes me giggle.

Grandpa and I are in Ft. Sill. Went to the open house and milled around. Met lots of interesting and nice people. I knew my grandpa is well loved but I just didn't know how much till today. But we went out to eat, went to the Px, went out to eat again, checked into our room and now we're just hanging out.

I think I've almost convinced him to get a Beagle. I know, they can be annoying but we used to have a hound/lab mix and she made the cutest baying sound when she was happy and then she died (Sad sad day) and I kinda want another hound or hound mix.

Gonna go back to watching NCIS. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes and if we get a puppy. =)

Cheers,
Bri.

Weekend adventure day one!

Left Sand Springs at 530 this morning on the way to Fort Sill for the weekend.

Papa has a retiree open house thing this weekend and he can't go by himself, Nana was gonna go but her back is still giving her trouble so I get to go. Am both excited and not impressed. This weekend could either be tons of fun or a drag. Hoping it goes the way of the former.
Learned a few songs on my guitar after restringing it; that was an adventure and a half let me tell you.

Gonna miss Supernatural and Psych this week, makes me sad. Cause they we're both really good last week and Sendhil from Heroes is gonna be on Psych this week. =)

Total fangirl mode, Wal mart had a Blue Beetle action figure. And I bought it, am keeping an eye out for Booster Gold (cause they're a pair, kinds like Sam and Dean.)

Life. Love it.

Highlander marathon & tons of Christmas music. That's the kind of mood I'm in. A dangerous one, lol.
Oh, and I'm totally making pie. (WHOO!!!)

Life is good.

"And this time Art made science her bitch." Oh Angela, you're so awesome. I ♥ Bones!

Oh Tonks...you're an idiot.

An ode to my Tonksy. (That'd be you Andrew. Just so you know.)

Oh Tonks...what would we do without you?
You never fail to make us laugh
with all the silly things you do.

Oh my Tonksy, we love you lots, it's true
But why the hell did you break your arm?
Cause now Moony & I have to do chores for you.

Yeah, he's an idjit. He called Katy and told her he was gonna play football (American, not actual football. Lame btw.) Then he called her back to tell her that he couldn't talk for long cause he was on his way to the hospital cause he broke his arm. Men, can't live with 'em and can't kill 'em when they do something stupid.
So, Moony calls me last night and is like "I have to go help clean his apartment cause he's a idiot and broke his arm, come with me?"  So, now I get to go to Talequah (Tal-uh-qwa) and help her clean his apartment. Oh joy! (notice the sarcasm?)

But on the plus side I ordered a mandolin today. Yeah, that's right. I'm gonna learn to play the mandolin. They're more fun than the guitar. And it was relatively cheap. So yey for me taking initiative!

Cheers,
Bri.
Sanctuary Henry Good Boy
Went to the river again this weekend. Had lots of fun, the water was cold so we didn't swim much. Still had lots of fun though. I pity the poor people who camped near us, they got treated to me and Grace singing all night long; High school musical,Sweeney Todd, Oklahoma, and other songs. It was awesome!

Now I'm watching Tom & Huck, which is my favorite movie ever. No lie. Sure, it's cheesy and predictable but I absolutely adore it. I had a double feature in fact, (cause that's the dvd set I have) The Adventures of Huck Finn (The Elijah Wood one!) [[Aw! Mini!Hobbit!!!]] And Tom & Huck.
Lame? Probably. But I don't really care. They're two of my favorite novels. I know I'm probably the only person in the world who likes both of 'em but oh well.

The job hunt is ongoing, and slightly unsuccessful at the moment. Hoping I'll find one soon. I could use the money. DEFINITELY could use the money.

I think that sums up my life so far.

Cheers,
Bri.

"Catch the snow, feels like winter..."

(Title from Sugarland's "Genevieve". And I wish it did feel like winter. It's like 105 here. Lame)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OMFG!!! Keith Urban (Or Keith Taco if your  Grace. Oh the joys of predictive text.) and Sugarland were AMAZING!!!
Fantastic show. But I'm soooo tired now. And I've got this whole in depth story idea I'm going to (attempt to more likely) write. And it's rather hard to do actual story research and/or write worth a crap when you're sleep deprived. Cause everything you type makes sense at the time but when you look back on it later it's just a random garbled mess of words. (Wibbley-wobbley timey wimey stuff)
But the concert was well worth the sleep deprevation. =) ♥Keith Urban.

I had a brilliant idea for a post DH Weasley twin fic. Inspired by "Being Human", "Warehouse 13", the last season of "Angel"... (And a little bit by the "Twin Vice Paranormal Detectives" series by the brilliant Starkiller.
Link here:www.fanfiction.net/s/3680373/1/Twin_Vice_Paranormal_Detectives
Because anybody who doesn't want to write about ghostly!Fred after reading it needs to have their head examined.)
But like any fic I write, the research is a pain. And somehow always leaves me slightly miffed when I finish. But hopefully it'll get better.

My spiffy Doctor Horrible like goggles came in today. Pretty excited about it. Gonna post some pics. (And not just of me & my goggles!)
Goggles and my not-a-twin make special appearances! )
